Lake District

Lake District

Welcome to QMD: Quality Mountain Days. Dedicated to helping you achieve quality days in the mountains. All walks are written up as basic route descriptions with some grid references. They are provided as a ‘Bare Bones Template’ for the walk. There are many interesting features and sites, wildlife and plants, viewpoints and alternatives, to each walk. Part of the adventure is finding these for yourselves.

The English spiritual home of Fell Running, with it’s routes in the Highland Games, the Lake District provides ample opportunity for QMDs. It is difficult to get off the well marked paths simply because there are so many of them, especially in the more popular areas, and the area is so busy. Overall though a great area although not as wild as the Irish Mountains.
